What comes around is back around. While vinyl has had its comeback in recent years giving hipster music connoisseurs a chance to show off their needle placing skills, it was only a matter of time before cassette tapes made their second debut.
That’s where Wild Tapes comes in. This niche, curated tape store is housed inside The Wild Detectives in the Bishop Arts District and was brought to life by Vice Palace. It will boast Dallas’ largest selection of local label and independent tapes.
To celebrate their grand opening, Wild Tapes be hosting a tape listening party at Wild Detectives tonight from 7pm-10pm. The night’s tunes will include Dallas labels such as Moon Sounds, Dallas Distortion Music, and Pourle Corps.
I’m predicting this will be a pretty rad night that will take you back to a cooler time. I wonder if I still have my Walkman…
BONUS: Garage bands, rejoice! Wild Tapes is giving you a chance to have your band’s tape featured. Just email your music links to firstname.lastname@example.org for consideration.
